Each year since Breyer’s inception some 21 years ago, Breyer has donated a portion of the proceeds from the BreyerFest Live Auction, both Breyer Raffles and the Silent Auction to a variety of charities. In all, Breyer has contributed donations in excess of $700,000, thanks to the generosity of BreyerFest attendees who support us through their participation in these auctions and raffles.
Despite the economy, Breyer continues to give to causes it supports and in 2009, donated more than $50,000 to equine welfare, and other causes, including Equestrian Land Conservation Resource, North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), Days End Horse Rescue, Future Farmers of America, Proud Spirit Horse Sanctuary and Red Wings Horse Sanctuary and many more. In 2010, Breyer is proud to support the following beneficiaries: |
Ahead With Horses (AWH)
AWH's mission is to maximize the potential of disabled, disadvantaged, and special-needs children by providing developmental therapy, education and recreation through horses and related experiences to foster increased selfsufficiency and the ability to lead better and more independent and productive lives. Based in Los Angeles, the program provides developmental therapy services to 200 children each week. 1000 children participate in field trips and-or special activities. The first handicapped student was served 42 years ago and more than 100,000 have been served since that time: the youngest 2 weeks old, the oldest 81! The program has been recognized educationally, scientifically, nationally and internationally and its work has been presented at prestigious forums and major conferences.

Front Range Equine Rescue
Front Range Equine Rescue began in 1997 as an all volunteer organization with Board members providing the initial foster homes. A small self-care facility soon housed several of the incoming rescue horses as well. Over the years, Front Range has been able to increase its capacity and currently owns a 40 acre facility in Larkspur, CO which was purchased in 2006. Horses are kept at five to six other private locations in the region. The rescue program is at the heart of Front Range's work. Other programs include educational program, Stop the Backyard Breeder, Trail’s End, Fire/Disaster Evacuation, Save the Wild Horses and Sponsor a Horse. A 501(c)3 non-profit, Front Range Equine Rescue received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator in 2009 indicating that the FRER excelled, as compared to other charities in America, in allocating and growing their finances in the most fiscally responsible way possible.

The Cloud Foundation
The Cloud Foundation, a Colorado non-profit corporation, grew out of Ginger Kathrens’ knowledge and fear for not only Cloud’s herd but other wild horses in the West. “I began to realize that we were losing America’s wild horses,” Ginger says. “They are rounded up by the thousand, losing in an instant what they value most--freedom and family. I realized that even Cloud and his family were in danger”. The nonprofit Cloud Foundation is dedicated to preventing the extinction of Cloud’s herd through education, media events and programming, and public involvement. The Foundation is also determined to protect other wild horse herds on public lands, especially isolated herds with unique characteristics and historical significance.
