2009 Celebration Horse Whizards Baby Doll aka Roxy
and Stacy Westfall
of Westfall Horsemanship
"A horse is the projection of people's
dreams about themselves -
strong,
powerful, beautiful -
and it has the
capability of giving us escape
from our
mundane existence." -Pam Brown
The black mare moves effortlessly, looping the arena with a combination of relaxed circles and spirals, lightning-
fast spins and intense sliding stops. All this is in time to Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying, with rider Stacy Westfall dressed
in white, riding bareback and bridleless. The mare is Roxy, a black American Quarter Horse registered with the AQHA as Whizards
Baby Doll and owned by Stacy's close friend and client, Greg Gessner. Together, Roxy and Stacy performed a seamless routine at
the 2006 All American Quarter Horse Congress, winning the Freestyle Championship. The performance was dedicated to the
memory of Stacy's dad who passed away less than a month before the emotional display of friendship, heart and understanding.
While that particular performance, featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, may be well known to the general public, what some
might not know is that Roxy is a respected competitor in the reining world. It all began in 2004 when Stacy's husband, Jesse,
rode the mare to the Reserve Championship at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress Reining Futurity LTD Open Division.
The next year, Stacy began competing with the talented mare. With Stacy, Roxy has won two All-
American Quarter Horse Congress Championships and two reserve championships, the NRHA
Futurity freestyle championship, and is a Tulsa Reining Classic two-time Champion. She has won
multiple bronze trophies in both regular reining classes as well Freestyle reining. As a result,
Roxy is the highest money earning offspring of Whizard Jac, an NRHA futurity champion and
USET champion. In addition, she is currently the only horse ridden bareback and bridleless at
competition level.
Choosing a horse as our 20th anniversary Celebration
Horse was no easy task, but we couldn't help but be
moved by Roxy's performances and long list of accomplishments. To make this model truly special, we have
chosen a brand new Sue Sifton sculpture to capture the
essence of this beautiful mare. Created in the likeness of
Roxy, you will be able to own this limited edition model
available only at our 20th anniversary celebration.
Available with three-day tickets while supplies last, Roxy
will be the perfect addition to your collection.
Don't let her slide by!

Kuchi
Bill and Wendy Ricci's mare Kuchi occupies a special place in history as the first Gypsy Vanner born
in America. Kuchi was foaled on March 18, 1999 and is the only offspring of the famous mare Bat
(one of the first two Vanners imported to North America). Kuchi's sire, The Gypsy King (the second
stallion ever imported to America), was also immortalized as a Breyer model. When Kuchi was born,
her owners searched for the "perfect name" for America's first Vanner baby. Kuchi is the name of a
Gypsy tribe famous for their appreciation of color, things that are structurally correct and the dance,
The Hoochi Kuchi. Just like her namesake, Kuchi is colorful, structurally correct and like her famous
father, she often dances when she walks!
Sheik af Hallundbaek
A 16.1 hand black leopard spotted stallion, Sheik was the first Danish Knabstrupper to pass the
rigorous Rheinland Pfalz-Saar International 30-day stallion test in North America, which is judged on
conformation, performance and attitude. Sheik was said to be "a gentleman with a capital G" by
RPSI representatives. As a result of passing this test his offspring are eligible for full registration and
branding. For Sheik's owner Raven Walters, whose LaRen Stud is one of the premier Knabstrupper
breeding facilities in North America and the home of America's first purebred Knabstrupper herd, it
was one more step in her mission to educate the world about this distinctive breed.
Bluegrass Bandit
The Carriers and their fabulous mare will be at BreyerFest again this year to help us celebrate our 20th anniversary. Bluegrass Bandit, a 2002 grey Tennessee Walking Horse mare, is known to steal the show when it comes to Trail Pleasure classes. At the 2005 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Bandit was crowned the World Champion in Youth English Trail Pleasure and in Amateur Owned and Trained Western Trail Pleasure. It the end, she was named the World Grand Champion in Western Pleasure and was voted the Trail Pleasure Horse of the Year by Voice of the Tennessee Walking Horse Magazine. Come meet Bandit and her owners Chip, Bonny and Jared Carrier of Gobblers Knob Farm at BreyerFest Birthday Bash!
Heart
In 1997, Bold Reflection, or "Bold," traveled from Jacksonville, Florida to Lexington, Kentucky to be the official BreyerFest Celebration Horse. Bold served the Jacksonville mounted police for 14 years and was a lifelong partner to his owner Darlene Geiser, a Sergeant in both K-9 and mounted police in the Jacksonville, Florida Sheriff's Department. Sadly, Bold passed away at his home a few years ago. However, Bold's enthusiasm to please and sweet temperament was passed on to his nephew, Bold's Obsession, nicknamed "Heart" due to the heart-shaped birthmark on his shoulder.
Like Uncle Bold in 1997, Heart will demonstrate the skills of mounted police training and desensitizing to help make it safer for trail riders and horse owners everywhere. Heart has set the standard for police horse training across the country. A police horse needs to be brave and trust the rider through all obstacles and environments, yet when appropriate, be calm for the public. As Darlene says, Heart is "galloping new hoof prints to honor his namesake."
