Abraham Lincoln's Horse "Old Bob"

2/21/12 - Civil War Sesquicentennial Model

Old Bob

With yesterday being President's Day, we thought it would be fitting to highlight Old Bob, Abraham Lincoln's horse!

Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809 and became the 16th President of the United States in 1861. Old Bob had been Lincoln's mount prior to his presidency. When Lincoln was assassinated in 1865, Old Bob was draped in black and walked behind the hearse in his funeral procession.

This Civil War Sesquicentennial Model comes with a ceremonial funeral blanket and Lincoln's top hat. Click here for more information.

Great mold, great color, but the blanket just looks tacky and out of scale. Is this what the funeral blanket actually looked like?
