I'm sorry for not doing so in advance as I nearly forgot about this post, but thank you very much, Sommerpony, for the info. I have been to two Open Shows and one youth/novice show since the last time I wrote this comment. I've learned a lot about horses, both the plastic ones and the real ones, from these shows. Model horse showing truly is a fun and educational experience for people of all ages--parents, take this into consideration next time your children want to go to a model horse show. I look forward to attending Delta Stampede, a Breyer Live Show Benefit Program event. :) By the way, are you Sommer Prosser?

Oh, and don't forget, just entering a live show is a blast, whether or not there is a "Zuni" model! Last year, there were over 100 Live Model Horse Shows held in North America! Show holders give out rosettes, sometimes silly prizes, sometimes big prizes. Most shows will have raffles of their own for things like tack, customs, books, and all kinds of neat stuff. (Not Breyer sponsored.)

Some shows are benefits for animal charities, or people charities, too. Go find one near you and join in the fun! There are tons of fun shows all over. Find a whole list of shows here:

Yes, everyone who enters the show is eligible to win "Zuni"! Like a door prize, every entrant will get ONE chance to win. No matter how young, how old, if this is your first show or your 100th, you'll have an equal chance to win just like everyone else in the room! You just have to be entered in the show, to be entered to win him.

In addition, some shows will offer a special kid's or novice division. Whether or not you will be eligible to show in that particular division depends on the rules of the show holder, but it has nothing to do with the "Zuni" model free door prize.

If you're asking "am I too told to get the model?" or "will open shows not have the model?", I think that the program is open to all ages and all levels of shows (novice, intermediate, open, etc.). From the description, it sounds like there may be some extra thing offered to youth/kids shows, but it sounds like Zuni is available to anyone at any show, so long as that show was approved by Breyer.

Question About the Breyer Live Show Benefit Program

Dec 23,2012 12:23 pm by TheStarWarriorHorse

Hello. I have been collecting Breyer model horses since I was nine, but have just started model horse showing about a year ago. I've only shown twice, and the two shows that I attended were youth/novice shows. I wish to attend more shows (hopefully some open shows) and to expand my knowledge about the hobby. Despite the fact that I am 17 years old will I still be able to benefit from the Breyer Live Show Benefit Program?
