In Memory of Lynn Anderson and Lady Phase

8/7/2015

Breyer is very sad to hear about the passing of country music artist Lynn Anderson, who was also a passionate horse lover and the owner of Breyer Portrait Model, Lady Phase.

In 1976, Breyer asked Anderson if they could create a portrait model of her horse Lady Phase. Chris Hess and Peter Stone, then head of marketing and product development for Breyer, visited Anderson and Lady Phase for a photo shoot near Nashville. She worked very closely with our model makers to create the perfect sculpt to capture Lady Phase's character and muscle detail. When the model was complete, Lady Phase was released as a Traditional size model, which was also available in a play set. In addition, Anderson was featured in a 1976 issue of Just About Horses (JAH). She even worked with Breyer to create a "little book" called "I've Always Loved Horses," which included her journey with Lady Phase and her other horses, as well as advice about owning your own horse.

Lynn Anderson will be greatly missed and forever remembered not only for her songwriting, but also for her love of horses.

Couldn't help but notice that the real Lady Phase had a white lower lip but the original model didn't. Can't believe I never noticed that until now. Very sad about Lynn's passing. She and Lady Phase were a unique pair.

A Tribute

Although I never got to meet her, I heard wonderful things about her. Ive heard some of her songs, the first time I heard the first word in her song, I wanted to jump out of my seat and dance! She has a voice that will make the end of a day seem like the starting of a new one. Godbless Lynn Anderson.

My tribute to Lynn Anderson

I got the opportunity to meet Lynn Anderson at the first Breyerfest in 1990. She signed by "Lady Phase" model as well as her booklet "I've Always Loved Horses". I will cherish those forever. She was such a sweet person. May her beautiful voice be heard forever.
