Meet – Peggy Jane Matzie of Jane Heart Equestrian Jewelry!

Jane Heart has been a seller at BreyerFest since 2014 and fans who have been to BreyerFest in person know to find her booth on the concourse right next to the Breyer store.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Peggy has lived in 8 states during her adventurous life and now finds herself comfortable in Arizona.  She lived in Lexington for several years it was during this time that she discovered BreyerFest.  For fans in the area – Jane Heart jewelry is sold in the KHP Gift Shop!

A life-long lover of horses, Peggy finally got to own one at age 24, but fondly remembers dressing up as a cowgirl when she was small and would ride the ponies at every event where pony rides were offered.  Her love of horses spurred her to move on to designing jewelry when she left the corporate world in 1994.  Unable to find realistic-looking jewelry, she started to create her own designs and has been at it ever since.

In addition to offering clients custom items, she’s also had the privilege of licensing the likenesses of some racing greats – Secretariat, American Pharaoh, Justify, Man o’ War, and Barbaro. Sales of these designs also go to benefit their related charities and organizations.

Peggy appreciates that the model horse hobby offers people access to horses without actually needing to own one and looks forward to BreyerFest every summer.  For this year’s event, which is just two short weeks away, you can find Jane Heart Jewelry as a part of our Marketplace, but if you can’t wait until then, you can find her work here.
