We got to meet another of our amazing Artisans’ Gallery participants this morning, so this afternoon we are switching gears to meet one of our Marketplace sellers! Though she hasn’t sold as a part of the BreyerFest Swap Meet at the Clarion in a few years, she’s excited to be back for this summer’s virtual celebration of BreyerFest: Horse of a Different Color.
Meet - Rhonda Gosney of the Loafing Shed!
Rhonda has attended BreyerFest 20 times, including 2020’s virtual celebration of Celtic Fling, and is looking forward to attending this summer’s event from her home in Missouri.
As a life-long horse lover, she started riding at the age of three and by the time she was 20 was firmly established in the horse breeding business. She’s proud of the many Quarter Horses and Appaloosas that are a part of her own herd of real-life horses.
Following in the footsteps of her mom, Rhonda is skilled at making porcelain and ceramic horses in her own ceramics studio at home and has amassed more than 125 horse molds over her career.
Today, she finds she is constantly amazed by the level of artistry in the model horse hobby. From sculpting and painting techniques, to the variety of media artists use, she is in awe of how lifelike today’s models look.
This summer, you can find the Loafing Shed among BreyerFest’s Marketplace sellers – Rhonda hopes she has something special for you and you can find her here on Facebook!
