We have met so many wonderful artists these past few posts and we thought we would switch it up and introduce you to a seller who is participating in our virtual Marketplace this year! This seller loves everything about Breyer and has so much to offer for every fan!
Meet Robin Smith of Zoe’s Porch!
Born loving horses, Robin’s life still revolves around them! Her earliest equestrian memory was when she was three years old and she sat on a bushy-maned pony and thought it was the most natural thing in the world. Since her “20 million wishes” for a real horse were ignored by her parents, she opted for the next best thing - a plastic Western Pony from Breyer! This was the first Breyer she bought and was the start of her herd. Robin has been attending BreyerFest since 2009 and she wouldn’t miss one for the world! This will be her first year selling and she is thrilled to be offering rare and vintage finds to buyers.
Due to various careers, life events, and even real horses, Robin had taken a break from collecting and did not realize just how the hobby had grown in the ensuing years. During a trip to a local flea market 14 years ago that all changed. A woman had a table full of Breyer models and she just had to buy them all! She had no idea how models had developed over the years she was out of the hobby – new sizes, new molds, new colors! She jumped back into collecting with both feet and never looked back!
Currently residing in a small town in Pennsylvania with her three cats, Robin’s herd has not stopped growing! She loves the hobby and how it keeps her connected to the real horse world. She also loves the beauty of the models and the fellow collectors who have become marvelous friends. Robin also participates in live and photo shows and is inspired by the continuing evolution of technology, techniques, and standards that help keep the hobby industry fresh, varied, and exciting!
She is excited to showcase and offer Breyer fans a variety of model horses of all ages, sizes, molds, color, rarity, and condition that represent decades of hobby evolution. Can’t wait till BreyerFest: Horse of a Different Color in July? Check Zoe’s Porch out here!
