One of the most fun parts of BreyerFest is getting to participate in the incredible workshop offerings taught by our amazing hobby artists. Workshops happen all three days of BreyerFest weekend and are only open to VIP and All-Access ticket holders, so if you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you’re running out of time! All-Access ticket sales close on May 2, but that might be too late to get in on the workshop fun!
A BreyerFest staple has been the incomparable Liz Cory, who is the former editor of JAH magazine and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to model horse showing. If you want to learn about model horse showing, or photo showing, from the best, you’ll want to register soon for Intro to Collecting and Showing Model Horses or How to Photo Show Model Horses. There are only a few spots left in each and participants in both sessions will get a model to take home and practice on!
Already a pro at showing halter, but want to up your performance game with some of your own, expertly made tack? LeeAnn Masters will show you the ropes in her Embellished Bridles workshop. Participants in this session will go home with a beautiful new bridle and a Traditional scale model to add to their herd.
Have a model with a broken leg or a bad rub? Artist Jennifer Danza says no problem! Participants in the Repairing Model Horses session will have their pick from a selection of severely damaged models and Jennifer will show you the ins and outs of some of the most tricky repairs. Take these skills home (and your practice model) to expertly repair models from your own collection – they’ll be good as new in no time!
If you love roans and other types of white markings, did you know that instead of painting white on a Breyer, you can just etch the existing paint away? Longtime hobby artist and collector Val Starcher has been sharing her etching knowledge with BreyerFest guests for years in her Etching Workshop, and she looks forward to passing this nifty trick to you! All participants will receive a model to get started on.
Kristen Cermele’s Galaxy Unicorn workshop might be sold out, but a recent change of plans has also put this popular artist at the head of the class for Sunrise Stablemates! Join Kristen as she takes you through the process of creating a fun decorator Stablemates model using a palette of rich sunrise colors! Participants will each receive 1-2 Stablemates to create various sunrise-inspired models using a combination of acrylic paints and eyeshadows.
You might remember artist Christina Riley from our Horse of a Different Color Live Broadcast from HQ in 2021, and she’s so excited to be offering in-person fans her tutorial on creating adorable Plush Ponies using felt and yarn. This squishable project is great for all ages, but little ones might need the help of an adult for the sewing parts.
Tiffany Purdy is back again with her fan-favorite session – Arabian Halter! Participants in this session will each receive a Traditional Scale Arabian model and all the supplies they need to learn how to make a beautiful halter for their model.
Spots in these sessions are going quickly, so be sure to secure your seat soon!

Will the virtual content for paid workshops (e.g. the pre-recorded ones) be available before or after Breyerfest? Those of us attending in person might enjoy the workshops but won’t have the time (and may not have the connection) to do them in the Friday-Sunday timeframe. I’ll happily pay the $5 each to do some of them later in July.

If I have virtual tickets so I need to pay $5 for the virtual workshops or webinars, or is that included?

Do we need to bring our own models for the in-person workshops?
