Many of our talented artists showcased in the Artisans’ Gallery create beautiful and creative custom horses that dazzle hobbyists and horse lovers alike. Today’s spotlight not only dabbles in customs herself, but is showcasing her magnificent and realistic paintings to share with BreyerFest fans this July. What better way to celebrate BreyerFest: Horse of a Different Color than showcasing an artist who captures the beauty and colors of the horse through her portraits and paintings!
Meet Sacha Pharris!
Sacha is a self-taught artist, residing in Mexico, who only started painting professionally in 2014. At 24 years old she did her first painting that launched her career as a full time artist. Her acrylic paintings are found in private collections all around the world! She has been fascinated with horses since a young age and has always loved drawing them. On her 4th birthday she ripped open, with excitement, a gift from a friend. Inside was a plastic light bay horse and foal. It was love at first sight, and introduced her to her life passion and future goals.
She is passionate about helping and reaching out to animals in need. As a young girl her father purchased a beautiful white (but neglected and abused) Lipizzaner mare that happened to be pregnant. She nursed her horse, Twilight, back to health, and received a beautiful foal, Sapphire, from the mare. Twilight’s health declined due to her past abuse and lack of care, and she passed away soon after. This sorrow fueled Sacha’s artwork and her desire to help animals. Her dream is to continue creating realistic, inspiring, and meaningful equine art. She loves capturing the personality and spirit of each horse in her art. She enjoys the reactions of people when they see her paintings. To be able to share her passion of horses with others in a positive way and bring joy through art is what keeps her going as an artist.
Sacha is fairly new to the hobby side of Breyer and model horses, only getting into collecting and customs as of 2020, even though she had Breyer horses growing up as a child. She heard about BreyerFest through a brochure that came with a model horse she received. She attended a BreyerFest once as a young child and then recently again in 2020, for the virtual celebration of Celtic Fling.
This year, during our celebration of Horse of a Different Color, she is very excited to share her original paintings - including some new special ones, as well as some custom painted horses at this year’s Artisans’ Gallery in July! Check out more of Sacha’s incredible portraits and paintings here!

I’ve known of Sacha for about two years. I’m pretty sure she lived with her parents as missionaries in Mexico. Shame that part got left out.

I bought a print of her sea horse about a month ago when StormyStrikes promoted her. I couldn’t be happier with it, and am excited Sacha is exhibiting at BreyerFest!

Sacha is a special talent, all her work is inspired by the love that dwells within her. I am blessed to live nearby and I have watched her glow as she creates. I have an original of a mare and her foal entitled “Memory of Love”. I recently commissioned her to paint a “Gutenberg” to proudly display on my mother’s antique buffet. Her friendship is priceless, and her work is amazing.
