We are only a few short weeks away from the biggest Breyer party of the year and we have had so much fun introducing you to new and returning artists participating in this summer’s BreyerFest. Today, we would like to introduce you to a long-time artist who has been coming to BreyerFest since the early 1990s!
Meet – Candace Liddy of Candace Liddy Bronzes!
Candace started selling at BreyerFest in the early 90s, shortly after her first visit to the event, back when the sellers were packed into a tent at the Kentucky Horse Park. She recalls it being hot and crowded, but a place where she was able to meet so many wonderful people!
Born in Chicago, but living in Minnesota since the age of 3, Candace’s mother was a classically-trained painter who taught her children about the arts at an early age. She loves horses and to be able to capture all their intricacies, beauty, and strength is a challenge she happily accepts in her work. What Candice loves most about being a part of the model horse hobby is that it touches people of all ages and around the world – all have found a way to express their love of horses through collecting.
With a real life background of raising, training, showing, and jumping horses, Candace is well suited to her other joy, which is judging model horse shows. She takes great care in passing the knowledge she has amassed over the years to the next generation that is eager to learn about the art of the horse – both real and plastic!
Candace has been a part of the BreyerFest Artisans’ Gallery for several years and looks forward to connecting with long-time fans and new fans alike at this summer’s celebration of Horse of a Different Color. She’s got new resin models, bronzes, and a selection of other horse art, too. You can find her among this summer’s Artisans’ Gallery sellers and here!

I’ve known Candace for several years and really miss talking with her and admiring her models (and sometimes buying one!)!
