BreyerFest Seminars

With a supersized 30^th BreyerFest anniversary celebration, we’ve got a supersized line up for our seminars this year! In addition to having seminars on Friday and Saturday, we’ve partnered with the EQUUS Film Festival and will be showing a series of free films all day on Sunday. This year there are even more ways to learn about real horses, model horses, and the model horse hobby! 

We’ve talked about some of our seminars in the past couple of months, but we have a jam-packed schedule this year – a tentative schedule is available online right now. Here’s an overview of some of the different seminars that we have planned for the weekend:

• Robin Hutton is back to talk about Sgt. Reckless, a true horse hero who was a part of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Robin will be presenting on both Friday and Saturday.
• Ginger Kathrens is also back on both Friday and Saturday to talk about Cloud, his herd, and the fight to save wild horses throughout the US. What an inspiration!
• New this year will be Glenn Ryan, a 28-year veteran and former lead packer for the National Forest Service who will also be conducting clinics daily at BreyerFest in addition to hosting his talk in the VIC theater. Glenn has a wealth of knowledge to share about his life on the mule pack string. 
• Hal’s owner and trainer Jonathan Field will be speaking about his work with Hal and horses at liberty. Jonathan’s work with horses is truly inspiring; his work focuses on developing strong relationships with these amazing animals.
• Zipped in Black Magic’s owner Marcia Laver will also be presenting about her work in Equine Therapy. Part of this seminar includes a showing of the short film “Unexpected Miracles.”

We have a few model horse hobby-related seminars that are back by popular demand, too. These include Penny Lehew’s Learning to Collect, Intro to Model Horse Showing with Kim Bjorgo-Thorne, and Repairing Models with Jenn O'Donnell-Danza. These are all very valuable talks for new hobbyists and veterans alike.

Our Partnership with EQUUS for Sunday’s offerings will make it difficult to find the time to do anything else!  The featured films include “Mustang Saviors”, “A Pony and His Boy”, and “When the Dust Settles.”  More information on these films is posted on the BreyerFest Seminars page!
