This year Breyer is excited to partner with Equus Film Festival as part of the BreyerFest Seminar series held at the Visitor Information Center. Playing Sunday, starting at 10:30am, the BreyerFest Film Series will be featuring some amazing films about horse heroes who have changed and even saved peoples’ lives. You will not want to miss this opportunity to escape the heat, cool down, and watch some inspiring films about horse heroes in action!
The first film, Mustang Saviors, follows military veterans, suffering from PTSD and other mental illnesses, who have found comfort, strength, and even hope in wild Mustangs. Not only are these men and women learning to cope with their past, present, and future, they are learning to trust, train, and bond with a wild animal.
A Pony and His Boy, will be the second film presented by the Equus Film Festival. Josh, an 8-year-old with Downs Syndrome, had his life change forever when he met Berry. Be inspired by the power of friendship between a boy and his pony, and how Berry has not only helped Josh, but the people around him as well.
The final film, When the Dust Settles, follows disadvantaged inner-city girls finding themselves working and caring for wild horses. Watch their lives change as they learn to see that the wild horses face similar struggles they have. See how a little bit of compassion, education, and trust can open new doors not only for the horses, but for the girls as well.
As a special bonus, we’ve got several of the stars of the Equus films on-hand for live demos in the Covered Arena! Come see them on Saturday afternoon in the arena and stick around after the films on Sunday for some special meet-and-greets!
These films presented by Equus Film Festival are FREE for all attendees of BreyerFest! Times are on the Sunday schedule of the program, so don’t forget to stop in to see a great film!
