We have some truly exceptional horses at our 30th BreyerFest and Latigo Dun It is no exception!
And with a nickname like Hollywood he was certainly born to be a star! Plus being the son of Hollywood Dun It! certainly helps!
Hollywood is a 2002 Quarter Horse Stallion who made his American Performance debut ate age 5 at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Hollywood is owned and exhibited by Charro artist Tomas Garcilazo of Charro on the Road, LLC. A Charro is a Mexican horseman or cowboy, often appearing in traditional dress: an embellished sombrero paired with embroidered pants and jacket, and a colorful necktie.
The skills that Tomas and Hollywood showcase have been passed down through generations, and Tomas takes great pride in the roping abilities and horsemanship as they compete in charrería; an event similar to rodeo that showcases skills cowboys used on haciendas. This dynamic duo also performs rope tricks and reining moves in addition to traditional Charro horsemanship.
Since Hollywood’s first show 12 years ago Tomas and Hollywood have toured all over the USA, Canada, and Mexico. They will be performing during the day in the Covered Arena and at the Celebration of Horses Show on Friday and Saturday evenings. If you’re lucky, you might even get to see one of the duo’s trademark tricks: the “wedding ring,” where Tomas spins a giant rope loop that encircles Hollywood as they race around the arena.
You can buy your Latigo Dun It model here, which features his iconic golden coat and naturally-long mane and tail.
