This year we had 8 different horses representing a variety of breeds and disciplines.
Our Celebration Horse, Brass Hat, is a 2001 bay Thoroughbred gelding owned by the late Fred Bradley and trained by his son William "Buff" Bradley. During his career Brass Hat quickly became a regional favorite of racing fans, earning over $2.17 million in 40 starts. His seven-year racing career highlights include 9 stakes wins, and setting track records at Churchill Downs and Gulfstream Park.
Brass Hat retired from the racetrack at the age of 10 and was moved to the Bradley's Indian Ridge Farm, where he became a pasture mate to other off-the-track-Thoroughbreds and a babysitter to the farm's weanlings.
Empres, 1995 Arabian stallion, competed in numerous countries in his career and was named Canadian National Champion Sport Horse Stallion in addition to countless other titles . Since 2011, owner Prue Critchley, focused Empres' career on both halter and performance. He has titles in a wide variety of classes including Dressage, Western Dressage, Halter, Sport Horse, Sport Horse under Saddle, Side Saddle, and Mounted Native Costume!
Now retired from the show ring, Empres will be siring the next generation of intelligent and versatile winners.
EZ To Spot is a Pony of the Americas and despite standing only 14.1 h, he regularly jumps fences from 1.10-1.15m, and up to 1.20m in the United States Equestrian Federation's (USEF) Pony Finals. His flashy leopard coat inspired his show name because he'd be "easy to spot in the field."
His career highlights include being named the USEF Zone Champion 2012-2015, and the USEF's National Pony Jumper Champion in 2013 and 2015.
Foiled Again is known as the richest pacer and has had an incredible career before retiring at the beginning of the year after winning his 99th race. Foiled Again is a 2004 bay Standardbred gelding and is co-owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, and JJK stables LLC.
Foiled Again began his racing career in 2006 and won more than $7.5 million, while being driven by Yannick Gringas to many of his victories.
Harley certainly stands out at the racetrack amongst the slick Thoroughbreds. This large and colourful lead pony certainly catches the eye with his black blanket appaloosa coat and size! Daisy's Chief Dane, better known as Harley, must be calm, confident, and strong in his work as a track pony.
Harley has ponied horses in the Kentucky Derby, including famed racers like California Chrome and Frammento. Working at Kentucky's Churchill Downs and Keeneland Racecourse, he's developed a fan following of his own.
LV Integrity, our endurance champion! This Arabian gelding entered his first endurance competition in 1999 as a six-year old and is still competing today at age 25. In endurance competition, horse and rider pairs complete courses of 50+ miles over challenging terrain.
Ritz's pinnacle achievement was being named a Perfect Ten Equine by the AERC in 2017. To receive this honor, the horse & rider pair must complete 10 years of competition, 10,000 miles, 10 first place finishes, and 10 best condition awards!
Old Ironsides is a retired racehorse owned by jockey Rosie Napravnik. Rosie first rode Old Ironsides (or Sugar as he is fondly known) in 2006 and fell in love. She followed his career, and put the word out that she'd take him when he retired.
In 2008 Sugar came home with Rosie and she stepped up to become a board member of Old Friends and the Retired Racehorse Project. Now retired from race riding herself, Rosie is promoting Thoroughbred aftercare. Like Rosie, Sugar does it all - from ponying, to trail riding and eventing.
Last but not least, BreyerFest icon Lil Ricky Rocker! The flashy 1992 leopard Appaloosa gelding made his show debut at age 3 and has had success in many different classes, including earning several National and World Championships in Appaloosa Heritage with his owners Ron and Donna Georgyi of Ohio.
On top of his showing accomplishments, Ricky has also held an important job at BreyerFest: Being the trusted mount of Breyer's own Stephanie Macejko during the opening ceremonies and at the BreyerFest 5K! Ricky adores people and attention, so he is right at home in the spotlight and this year celebrated his 16th year at BreyerFest!

How do you sing up to get your horse as a bryer
September 19, 2019
I have never been to BreyerFest, but I have heard it is really fun. Also what does a horse have to do to get a Breyer Model made for them? I always wondered that. I’m sure they must have to work really hard.
