Michelle Masters has been managing the BreyerFest Open Show since 2006, but has been collecting Breyers for much longer. In fact, Michelle got her first Breyer model horse from her aunt when she was seven years old. In the 50+ years since, she has gathered a cherished collection of exclusively O.F. Breyer models. She attended her first ‘live' model horse show in 1975, and has been to (and hosted) more shows than she can count! Michelle first attended BreyerFest in 1993 and has only missed two years since then. She attends BreyerFest with her daughters, Sara, Amy and Heather, who have their own model horse collections and have enjoyed showing as well.
Michelle started out as a judge at BreyerFest, then moved on to teach the Showing and Performance clinics before being asked to take over as show manager for the Open Show. She considers her duties as show manager a true labor of love as it combines her love of organizing and planning with her life-long love of the model horse hobby and her great affection for the BreyerFest event.
Outside of the hobby, Michelle has been an 8th grade English teacher since 1999, and loves, loves, loves to read! She also adores her two dogs, Jacky and Timmy, gets to the beach as often as possible, and loves doing jigsaw puzzles and craft projects, playing volleyball, and attending Renaissance festivals.
There is still room in the BreyerFest Open Model Horse show, so reserve your table here!
