We introduced fans to the locally-crafted music you’ll get to experience as a part of the Beer Garden at BreyerFest yesterday, but we are also working with some incredible partners who are looking forward to providing guests with some locally-crafted beer, hard cider, coffee, cocktails, and mocktails!
On tap and in the shade of the tent will be our friends from West Sixth Brewing and Wise Bird Cider. Be sure to stop by, say hello, grab a cold one, and listen to some tunes!
Founded in 2012, West Sixth Brewing is located in a 100-year-old building called the Bread Box, historically used for the Rainbo Bread Factory, in Lexington, Kentucky. West Sixth prides themselves on both the craft beer they make and having a positive social impact on the communities they are a part of. They brew and can or bottle dozens of beers throughout the year and focus on brewing beers with high quality and creativity that they are proud to serve to their friends and family. West Sixth supports the direct work of non-profits through their Sixth for a Cause Foundation - powered by programs such as Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter, Sixth for a Cause, Wooden Nickel, Pedaling for a Purpose, and other statewide sponsorships. They are environmentally conscious in everything that they do and strive to be an awesome place to work for their more than 100 employees.
Wise Bird Cider opened their doors in the Distillery District of Lexington in 2019 and is a small, family-run business committed to crafting small-batch traditional-style ciders made with a focus on tradition and quality from the best apples they can get their hands on. They believe that great apples make great ciders and source as many apples as possible locally from throughout Kentucky. As well, they also seek out harder to find, cider-specific apples from their neighbors in Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania when needed. They believe in being good people, hiring good people, and that giving back to the community makes the world a better place.
Outside our BreyerFest Beer Garden tent, near the Special Run Line Tent, we are also thrilled to be hosting Set The Bar, who will be brewing coffee and mixing craft cocktails from their unique mobile bar (which is a converted horse trailer!), “The Thirsty Mule”! Founded in 2019, Set the Bar is owned and operated by Cheryl Knapp, Alvaro Fernandez, Amanda Fernandez, Chelsea Hollingsworth, and Jonathan Hollingsworth. With backgrounds ranging from restaurant management to healthcare, they were looking for a way to serve Lexington and the surrounding communities with an unforgettable experience. Founder, Cheryl Knapp, loved that this venture created an outlet for her love of event planning and design as well as used the team’s combined strengths in hospitality, and affection for Kentucky.
Tickets to BreyerFest are still on sale and we can’t wait to see you there!
