We are looking forward to welcoming Nancy Conley and her history making Western Dressage horse, Truly Unsurpassed, to BreyerFest 2019!
Haven’t heard of Western Dressage before!? As the name suggests Western Dressage is where the classic techniques well known in the Dressage world meet Western horsemanship to create this exciting new discipline! While you won’t see high-level moves like the piaffe and passage, the elements of lightness, balance, and athleticism remain the same – only they’re performed under western tack. The Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA) oversees the discipline and organizes different events around the country.
You might be wondering what horses take part in Western Dressage? While stock horses are the most common horse, WDAA does allow all breeds, including our amazing guest horse, Truly Unsurpassed! Nancy Conley’s mare is a 2007 Paint Horse and has been making history! Truly Unsurpassed became the first horse in earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medal Awards from the WDAA. In 2017, she was named the USEF WDAA Horse of the Year for Level 2, and has several World Championships at the WDAA World Show! In the winter of 2018, Truly Unsurpassed earned USEF Horse of the Year Level 3 Western Dressage and was a Western Dressage World Show High Score Champion for Level 4. Amazing achievements for this truly special horse.
You can meet Truly Unsurpassed and her owner, Nancy Conley, at the Kentucky Horse Park throughout BreyerFest weekend! And don’t forget to pick up your model at the Breyer Store so you can get it signed!
