Today’s seller has only missed ONE BreyerFest since 1995 and started selling at the event in 2000 as a helper for another retailer that has since retired – Spotted Horse Ranch. If you’ve been to BreyerFest, you know this booth in the Covered Arena – the one in the corner with the boxed models stacked up super high!
Meet – Day Dreams N Things!
Dana, the owner of this Breyer retail store located in Bland, Virginia, was born and grew up not far from Chicago and bought her first Breyer model in 1966 at the age of 8 for an incredible $1.25 (which she still owns!). Because models weren’t quite as easy to come by where she grew up, at 13 she got into real horses and even used her babysitting money to help make payments on her first real horse!
It wasn’t until later in her life, in 1989, that she unpacked her childhood collection and started buying models through Breyer catalogs. After an eye-opening first BreyerFest experience in 1995, where she met other collectors that lived near her, she decided she needed to become a retailer – and the rest is history!
Sharing her love of Breyer with her customers and other Breyer lovers is the best part of Dana’s day. She says it’s like having good friends all over the world! Her retail store is home to new releases and vintage or hard to find models, and her staff is a wealth of knowledge. From displaying collections to repairing a crooked leg, she loves making sure budding collectors get the best tips and tricks.
In addition to participating as a seller in the Marketplace, Day Dreams N Things Breyer Horse Store does tons of community outreach, including hosting Fun Days, supporting their local 4-H, donating prizes to model horse shows, and more.
Dana is thrilled to be a part of this summer’s celebration of Horse of a Different color, and her retail store in Bland, VA is open and receiving customers! If you can’t make it to Virginia, you can find Day Dreams N things here and online BreyerFest weekend in our virtual Marketplace!
All-Access ticket sales end on Monday (or while supplies last), so if you haven't purchased your BreyerFest tickets yet, get yours here!
