In today’s vendor spotlight we meet a first time seller who is very excited to be apart of this year’s celebration of Horse of a Different Color!
Meet - Stacey Roi of My Breyer Heart!
Her love for horses started at an early age! Around 2 years old her mom took her to a local stable to ride. From there her love of horses only grew. She was lucky enough to grow up on a farm in Delaware and got her first horse when she was just 16. She lives in New Jersey today, but still lives close to her family farm in Delaware where she grew up riding. Her love of Breyer models started on her 10th birthday when her mom gifted an Old Timer in a glossy dapple grey with a yellow straw hat. He still sits on her shelf, looking as good as he did the first day she got him. Now, 46, years later, she is still collecting and has acquired over 1,200 models!
Stacey says she lives, breathes, and sleeps horses! They are always on her mind. The beauty and majesty of the horse inspires her. Breyer has become a huge part of her life since she does not own a real horse anymore, though she and her daughter do take the occasional trail ride! She loves collecting unique and unusual models. She says it is so fun to find the elusive model that you are looking for – the hunt is half the fun! The other half, she says, is meeting other collectors and Stacey is utterly amazed at the talent in this hobby!
Stacey has been attending BreyerFest for 13 years and first found out about the event right here on the BreyerFest blog! She learned more through various Breyer mailings, Just About Horses, and emails. This year, at BreyerFest: Horse of a Different Color, she will be participating as a seller in the Marketplace for the first time! She hopes that fans will be able to find their “Holy Grail” hiding in her collection. She is also looking forward to meeting many new Breyer lovers! You can find her here.
