We are just three short weeks to BreyerFest and this weekend we are continuing with our artist spotlights! Today, we introduce you to another first time seller who is excited to show Breyer fans some amazing customized work next month at BreyerFest: Horse of a Different Color!
Meet Kenzie Williamson of Bridle Tree Studios!
As far back as Kenzie can remember she has been a horse lover – a love she was born with and no one in her family understood (and hoped for the longest time she would outgrow it). To their dismay it only grew! She always has been an artistic and creative person and horses have always been her main muse. After leaving her ‘dream job’, training marine mammals for the US Navy, she was looking for a new hobby and started painting tabletop miniatures. After painting her first model, Lady Phase, she came across the model horse community through NaMoPaiMo’s Facebook group. The rest is history!
In the woods of her small farm on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, Kenzie is a full-time equine artist. She tries to capture the essence of the horse, always attempting to get closer to the real thing. Her ponies and passion for horses are her inspiration for her work, but she is also inspired by her amazing friends and the talented model horse artists from around the world. She is so happy to be a part of the model horse hobby and loves how the artists continue to raise the bar on realism and creativity. Aside from her work she started a Facebook group for customizing Breyer barns and creating equestrian worlds and scenes in miniature called the Bridle Tree Barn Raising Challenge. She loves creating set-ups to display and to photograph her horses in.
Hearing about BreyerFest as a child from Breyer catalogs, she did not realize how awesome and huge the event was until she was an adult. This year will be her 4th BreyerFest and her first time officially selling in the Artisans’ Gallery. She is very excited and has been saving up a special collection of her work. She will have a wide variety of painted models and medallions in all scales, as well as two very special small sculpture releases. She is especially excited to show off the fantasy pieces she has been working on in fun colors to celebrate this year’s theme! Check out Kenzie’s work here!
All ticket holders have access to this summer's incredible Artisans, so if you don't have your tickets yet to the BIGGEST Breyer Event of the year, get yours here!
