Welcome to another year of the BreyerFest Blog!
With the new website we’ve been posting updates since BreyerFest ended last year but we know some of our readers might be rejoining us for the first time today. Welcome everyone!
We say it every year but it’s so hard to imagine the Kentucky heat in the middle of a New Jersey January day but BreyerFest 2019 will be here before we know it! And between now and July the BreyerFest Blog is your go-to place for all the latest information and updates, including reveals of new models, announcements of special guests, and any other updates that may occur.
BreyerFest Salute to Horse Heroes will be the biggest and best event to date. A celebration worthy of our 30th anniversary! Over the next few months, we’ll be going behind the scenes of BreyerFest, meeting our long time volunteers and vendors, and of course unveiling quite a few models!
A lot of the changes we made last year will be back in place again or 2019, and of course, there will be a few more changes as we tweak things here and there to make your experience the most optimal. The Special Run Line will be in its own tent again with tons of misters and fans to keep everyone cool while they wait.
The Breyer Lounge will be back again, too, offering guests the perfect oasis from the Kentucky Heat with air conditioning and a bird’s eye view of all of the action in the Covered Arena.
However, this year, we have a few more changes including, once again, the re-location of our workshops. While many folks enjoyed the air conditioning in the Museum basement, the space wasn’t exactly ideal, so we will be moving workshops to a bigger, brighter location – the Historic Big Barn!
As well, as we mentioned a few weeks ago, we’ve made a couple of major scheduling changes for 2019 – this year, the Costume Contest will be on FRIDAY night and the Live Auction will be on SATURDAY night. In recent years, the raffle on Saturday has run long, making it difficult for contestants to make it from the Covered Arena to the Alltech Arena for the Costume Contest, so we hope that this change is helpful to everyone.
Keep an eye on the BreyerFest Blog – we have a special surprise to share next week!

Great idea to move the contest to Friday night. I entered the one for Gateway to India, and found out just how well I could, or couldn’t, run in a sari. Made it anyway, and had lots of fun, but won’t miss be missing that run any time soon. Hopefully, there won’t be any conflict with the Open Show.
