After highlighting the Live Show the other week it’s time to turn our attention to our younger showers!
On Saturday July 13th, BreyerFest Salute to Horse Heroes gives our youngest fans the chance to show off their favorite models! For those who don’t know, a model horse show is very similar to a live horse show except models are shown instead of live horses. Plus you will make new friends all while learning more about model horses and the model horse hobby!
The Youth and Children’s Show is held on Saturday from 7am – 3pm at the Alltech Arena North Expo Hall. There’s a Children’s Show for ages 12 and under, and the Youth Show is for ages 13 – 16. Models can be shown in two divisions: halter and performance. You can view the breed guide and class lists for the Youth show here and the Children’s show here.
New to showing? Or need more information? There’s an FAQ section on the website here and be sure to check out the FREE Introduction to Model Horse Showing seminar on Friday at 11am taught by Children's and Youth show manager Kim Bjorgo-Thorne. For a more hands-on experience, long-time shower Liz Cory will be conducting the “How to Show Model Horses” workshop on Friday at 10 am and renowned judge Lori Daniels will be hosting “What a Model Horse Show Judge…Judges” on Friday at 12:30 pm. You can sign up for either workshop here.
The Children’s Show (for Breyer fans 12 and younger) requires a Children’s Three-Day ticket to enter and you can buy your tickets here. The Youth Show (for ages 13 – 16) requires an Adult Three-Day ticket to enter and you can buy your tickets here. Please note that parents are also required to be a BreyerFest Single-Day or Three-Day ticket holder.
We hope to see you and your friends at the Alltech Arena on Saturday morning!

Sheila, the Children’s Show is not sold out and there are still spots available. Remember that only 3-Day ticket holders can participate in the model horse shows, so make sure you are trying to purchase the entry on the account that you bought your 3-Day tickets with. Otherwise, the buy button will not be available.

I tried to register for the Children’s show and it says it is sold out. If it is truly sold out, then it needs to state that on the site, not at the point that I go and register.
Can you please check to see if there are additional spots?

Hello,
I’ve previously shown in the youth show and I noticed that the performance guidelines have been adjusted this year. Are entrants are still allowed to make their own tack and props?
Comments will be approved before showing up.

I am confused about showing customs. Are we allowed to show Breyer models that we have customized ourselves? I am also wondering if we are still allowed to show our homemade tack and props?
