Last week, we talked about Kenzie Williamson’s awesome workshop session, which is a super cute, carry-on friendly craft that still has a couple of seats left! Today, we want to introduce you to our awesome Show Manager, who has been the manager of the BreyerWest Open Show, BreyerWest Youth & Novice Show, and recruiter all the amazing artists who will be joining us for workshops and meet & greets since 2016 – Erin Corbett!
Erin has been in the model horse hobby since the mid-1990s, and has more recently enjoyed viewing the hobby through the lens of her 8-year-old daughter and avid collector in her own right, Olive. They live in Vancouver, WA with their two cats and a dog.
Erin's real horse background included years of showing Arabian horses, though these days she appreciates just about every equine. Erin has recently completed graduate school, earning her Executive MBA from the University of Oregon, and is also a healthcare Operations Manager. She brings those leadership and organizational skills to bear through her event support, attention to detail, meticulous staff selection, and ability to focus on the experience of attending events from the attendee and collector side.
BreyerWest has had a blossoming journey since its revival in 2016 and spent four fun years in Albany, OR, then moved to Denver, CO in 2020, concluding literal days before the pandemic hit in the US. Due to Covid, the event was hosted virtually as Breyer Boot Camp in 2021, and was excited to return to Denver to be in-person in 2022 and is now back in Denver for the third time in 2023. Each year, under Erin’s leadership, the event has grown in both size and popularity and we can’t wait to bring everyone together once again for a weekend of Breyer fun.
For Erin, hosting BreyerWest is a labor of love, launched through the genuine desire to help build an event that is accessible to those for whom Lexington and BreyerFest is too far to travel. As BreyerWest continues to grow and evolve, Erin loves seeing happy repeat attendees shoulder to shoulder with hobby newcomers having the best weekend in months. For her, this is the most rewarding part.
We can’t wait to you in Denver! Keep your eyes on the BreyerWest Blog! If you haven’t yet purchased your BreyerWest Special Run Mode, a beautiful glossy version of Chardonnay, you can do so here!
