Models in the Sunshine (MITS)

Models In The Sunshine (MITS), part of the Live Show Benefit Program was held May 17 and 18 in Lady Lake, Florida. The show boasted more than 40 entrants, seven of whom were showing at a model show for the first time. Lionesse was won by Donna Arteaga. Donna is a long time model horse person who hosts a model show in Newberry, Florida. She also trains and shows real horses, which are rescued PMU mares and foals! We had a celebrity guest during the show which was a delight for all present! Hamlet, from Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses, came to our show for a visit! Our entrants were so excited to be able to meet Hamlet and hear about all of the wonderful work the therapy horses do. It was an informal meet-and-greet with Hamlet and Gentle Carousel's Jorge and Debbie Garcia-Bengochea who told stories about Magic and Hamlet and all of the people they have helped. Hamlet was very interested in Lionesse! Thank you so much for the Breyer Live Show Benefit Program and a very big thanks to Gentle Carousel for taking the time to visit with us!

Models In The Sunshine

I know that this is a little late but I went to Models in the sunshine this year (2014) and it was my first model horse show. I plan on going this year (2015) and I am super excited. If it is your first show, I definitely recommend MITS to be your first show. I also recommend talking to the judges on what they look for when they judge, it helps you gain experience for showing in the future. Also you should bring some money if you are looking to buy a model, handmade tack, and raffle tickets. Also be prepared to not win every time. When I shoed up I thought I was going to get a good amount of ribbons, but I only ended up getting one ribbon. But, I was very pleased with my model and I am prepared for next years show. See all of you at MITS😄😃😀

Models in the Sunshine

Hey, that's me with Lionesse and that cute little fellow. He could walk underneath my girls and not even bump his head. Can't wait for next year. Had lots of fun.

Models in the Sunshine

This is a show that you cannot miss! There are classes for everyone and a chance to see so many different types of models from all eras! I am always amazed at the number and diversity of Breyers that appear. I think that Breyer goes a long way to facilitate collectors at every level from novice to advanced. This show gives everyone the utmost opportunity to showcase the very best of Breyer. See you there next year!
