The Marwari?

I know that the Marwari wasn't listed here (it was a 2013 model, right?) ,but I have a few things to say. First, is he supposed to have dapples? When I got mine, the first thing I noticed was he had zero dapples, which I strangely like! He's a bit more special to me that way. Anyways, the second thing. His ears... Mine has correct ears!!!! :D Yay! A lot of people have had troubles with their ears, but I got quite lucky! One last thing, he doesn't stand very well! I plan on making mine a stand, but it's a little bit irritating. All in all, truly a great model, highly suggested :)

Really? Terry M. you should keep that to yourself cause no one want's to her you talk like that. If you are soooo upset call breyer and talk to them about iit instead of telling all of us.

Thank you breyer for making a model of Reckless! I have been waiting years for you to! Those horses desurve a large amount of respect for dieing next to our soldiers. Thanks breyer! I am sure to add her to my collection!

breyer, u continue to please.

all the horses in the 2013 collectoin so far are SO amazing. all but northern dancer. that mold looks horrid on any model. though i do like the ELCR benefit models on the same mold. but the ELCR benefit models had colors that suited the model. either way all the 2013 models are awesome besides northern dancer. that was dissapointing. but sorry about my being sour, just stating the truth. but either way, i continue to be pleased by you guys, amazing horses. BTW im not megan`s mom, im megan.

Disappointed so far...

Breyer is getting too girly. I love the idea of the bright vibrant colored stablemates, but you could have done WAY better with it. Why not put realistic coat patterns and markings on the horses, but instead of using normal horse colors like bay, chestnut, dun, grey, black, etc. etc. use these beautiful colors? Do the stablemates even have their eyes painted on? It doesn't look like in this picture. I'm pretty disappointed. I'm not sure if I'll buy any of them this year. The Reckless model is great though, you couldn't have picked a better horse to make a model of. I also would like to add just a general Breyer request...Breyer, could you please make sure that when you make a new mold it can actually stand up, and not fall down over the tiniest bump of its display shelf or area? I'm sick of having to put clay on some of my models hooves just so that they can stand up on display. Especially with the stablemates; they seem to be the scale that has the most molds with this problem!

LexyKentucky Says:
12/17/2012 at 8:32 pm

Concerns with Mariah...

Well just ordered Mariah a few weeks ago and I got her today in the mail...however, I was HORRIBLY disappointed. The photo that shows her on here CLEARLY, has dapples. My model doesn't have a single dapple on it. It's painted poorly in a weird matalic silver... regardless, the new model is pretty none the less, just disappointed that the photo of Mariah does NOT represent the actual horse.

2013 Breyers

I was at Passage to the Pacific in Oct. I saw a NEW dressage horse mold, traditional sized that looked like it was by Eberl who did Weather Girl. It looked awesome! Kind of the same pose as Totilas the resin. I hope Breyer does still produce it and release photos of him soon! He is to die for!! Plus they also had stablemate sized versions of the crystal run Huck Bey, and I think the Moody andalusian in crystal!

Northern Dancer

I am very excited for Northern Dancer. Ever since I heard of him I have wanted Breyer to make a model of him. He looks wonderful. Thank you Breyer so much!!

Keira98 Says:
11/25/2012 at 9:56 pm

I'm glad to see some new models. However, I have a few suggestions and complaints. First, I am so glad you made a model of Sergeant Reckless. I also love the portrait models, but I miss the Breyers that were not portrait models, as well as the companion animals. Also, I think the Northern Dancer model could have had a better mould. It would be great if you could introduce a new TB mould, especially one for ND. Other than that, I'm happy that there are new models to look forward to.

Pet Nurse Says:
11/21/2012 at 3:38 pm

I am so glad you are honoring Reckless, she saved a lot of lives. My Dad served in Korea, and I hope to be able to present him with this for christmas. He never saw Reckless in person, but almost all the sevice men there knew about her and what she did for them.

Thank you.

SilverPhoenix Says:
11/17/2012 at 5:10 pm

That's not Northern Dancer!

Seriously, have they ever looked at a picture of the Dancer? He was short, square, and muscular. The Smarty Jones mold would have worked better. Heck, even Marabella looks more like Northern Dancer than the John Henry mold does. I won't be buying that one, that's for sure.

CindyJo Says:
11/16/2012 at 8:36 pm

If you need motivation to buy and love Srgt Reckless, watch the video of her on youtube. It's wonderful. I have to have this model!

Friesiangrl Says:

Not much of a peak.....

I hope Breyer is saving the best 2013 reveals for later because this group is very lackluster. Oh do I miss the Breyers of the 1970's and 1980's!!! I wish they would not reserve their talents for special clubs and big $$$ models. This byegone quality needs to come back to the general consumer!!! Very dissapointing.

On a positive note: I LOVE the Weathergirl mold and hope they commission more like her! Exquisite.

Here's hoping they have more intriguing models up there sleeve for 2013.

Love everything except that new classic. Why is that front leg so awkward and the chest so flat?? It looks like a cross between the warmblood, trotting morgan mare, and the classic arab mare. The neck is also really thin at the throatlatch... this does NOT look like a Morab.

Regular runs?

Love the colors and the molds!!! Not a big complaint as these are great horses, but couldn't we have some good old simple regular runs like Breyer used to do? Like the Proud arabian stallion, mare and foal. Or some more just simple regular run colors, no famous horses, more colors on the Nakota mold, maybe a re-issue of the Norwegian Fjord, maybe another Old Timer. The new molds are super fabulous, but it seems most of the horses are all fashioned after famous horses, and not just plain old everyday horses like the old Breyer horses used to be. Could we PLEASE have back our Wildlife and cattle? And not be Specials for Breyerfest like the cow & calf were. Just simple everyday cheaper models? Maybe make a white cow and calf on an everyday model? The Longhorn again, but not be a Special edition. All of those be out there for everyone to get again? Also Would love to see the Susecion and LeFire on a regular run set, not just specials or web horses. PLEASE!!

breyerbui Says:
11/01/2012 at 5:25 am

I just have to say WOW people....

All of the new releases are made in the likeness of REAL horses. To say that they are boring and the same old color is the same as saying real horses are BORING. What is wrong with all of you?????

Sure the John Henry mold has it's issues, but according to most ALL of the Breyer models have issues in boi-mechanics somewhere on them.

I for one love Topsails. I would probably jump at getting Reckless too, if money weren't a problem.

101iheartmoondancer Says:
11/01/2012 at 1:11 am

Okay c'mon breyer... I agree with like everyone here. The only one i like is Topsails because i like that mold. But i am very disappointed that he is brown, every smart chic olena mold is brown there is like three now that are brown couldn't you have done topsails on another QH mold you have plenty.. And then the other ones i will NOT even wait my time or money on they are just like wow really?! Old molds, great horses but i want to see some newer molds here not older molds. I don't like the style of a lot of the very old molds that breyer re uses over and over, the plain just standing there boring molds that do nothing for eye appeal. What about the Nakota mold? Or the show jumping warm blood? Or perhaps strapless? I get what your doing here breyer and i'm sure SOME people like those molds and horses so they will buy them but you have to play off of the popular molds as well because those are my favorites. And i would like to see some newer creations and better more detailed paint jobs.

Celine C. Says:
10/31/2012 at 10:30 pm

I know practically everyone hates the mold chosen for Northern Dancer. I've only started collecting Breyer just 4 years ago and I want to get as many different horse molds as possible. So I want to try to get Northern Dancer and see if the mold is good or not.

Strapless Says:
10/31/2012 at 6:18 pm

Arggh, Comon Breyer1!!!!
Bring some NEW and INTERESTING molds to life, I agree with Marissa, just some boring old moulds and ugly paintjobs!!!!!! I know, I know - old molds, the nostalgia, that is. The Western pony is lovely, by the way, but not looking forward to buying Northen Dancer, because of the mould.

Marissa Says:
10/31/2012 at 2:41 pm

The model actually looks like a cowpony, no way at all a TB. Breyer should have used at least the smarty Jones model instead.

Marissa Says:
10/31/2012 at 2:30 pm

WHY THAT Model for Northern Dancer?!!!!!

I've been waiting a lonnnng time for breyer to put Northern Dancer on a model and I'm not happy with the choice. Actually I'm really Disapointed. He was the one of the most amazing Canadian TB of all time after all!!! He deserves his own model!!! Breyer Needs to start using better models for Canadian horses instead of digging up old ones that greatly lack conformation and are sculpted roughly making the paint surface on them un smooth. For example they put HICKSTEAD the world champion jumping horse an an older WB model which had an extremely badly done paint job for the paint got very gloopy on him for they didn't smooth the surface first. Breyer needs to start using better models for horses in countrys other than the USA and Europe. They are an international company after all and there are many collectors in Canada. They need to start acting like one other wise many collecters are going to turn to other companys like stone.

Come on Breyer.

O'Lena mold

You guys must be collecting the wrong Smart Chic O'Lena molds cause all of mine are paints and apps. More so, this mold captures the essence of a true working quarter horse. Yeah, there are tons of sorrels and bays, look at the quarter horse world. However, they are most definitely not "boring". I will certainly be buying this one.

The cord is a french fourragere shoulder cord which is a military award given when a unit has been cited twice for the French Cross of War. In other words, it represents a citation for bravery. Her blanket also shows all her other military ribbons and sergeant's chevrons.

windwalker175 Says:

I don't usually like vintage style horses, but I think I might have to get the vintage appaloosa on the western pony mold. I have this obsession with appaloosa breyers, and I don't even own a real appy(I have a chestnut and a paint) and I've only ever known one real appy, named Bert, yet I have more appys than I do paints and pinto breyers! Part of that is because I etch appys(I've etched Ravel, the Let's Go Riding chestnut Marabella mold, a treasure hunt silver, and quite a few others). I guess I just have a soft spot for appalooa breyers!

Could have made a worst choice for Northern Dancer!

For all that you others don't like the John Henry mold being used for Northern Dancer, Breyer could have used something worse like the Secretariat mold (with the ice cream cone neck). Personally, I think they should have used the Lonesome Glosy mold, for all it would have looked a lot like Afleet Alex.

Horrid mold choice for Northern Dancer

The model of Northern Dancer looks nothing like him. I am disappointed beyond belief. I waited 40 years for a Northern Dancer, and you gave us this? I was near tears when I saw this. He deserved his own sculpture.
