The triathlon of the driving world, Combined Driving tests the control, agility, obedience, and endurance of horses and drivers over three phases of competition – Dressage, Marathon, and Cones. International driver Misdee Wrigley Miller ended up finding the perfect addition to her four-in-hand team in Bravour 54.

The handsome bay KWPN gelding, known for his stylish movement and fiery, bold temperament, came to Misdee in 2017. Though Misdee wanted to bring Bravour back to basics and get to know him before having him join one of her teams, fate had other plans when one of Misdee’s horses unexpectedly passed away before the 2018 World Equestrian Games.

Bravour was then put to the test and on the fast track preparing for the games. Rising to the occasion, the quirky and talented horse proved to be a steady leader in all three phases, especially shining in Dressage. At the end of the day Bravour had helped the United States win its first Gold Medal in the sport and helped Misdee become the first woman to win Gold in Combined Driving at the World Equestrian Games! Bravour 54 has truly earned the title as Misdee’s “Golden Boy”!
Via Lattea
This Italian Trotter mare has turned heads on the track for more than one reason! Born in Italy, under the shadow of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, this special mare became Europe’s first white trotter. Named after the white stars found in the Milky Way, she was bought by Tristan Sjoberg, who has indeed helped this special mare become a star on and off the track.
Via, who is no stranger to the spotlight, attracts the attention of trainers and press wherever she goes. Trainer Åke Svanstedt would say Via Lattea knows she is queen of the track and would rather get her picture taken than train!

HD Harkness

FVA'S Grand Design
When you think of the Drum Horse breed, the first thought that usually comes to mind is a horse carrying a large set of drums in a parade. FVA’s Grand Design, known as Tilly in the barn, is breaking the mold and showing the world just how versatile the Drum Horse can be!
This stunning mare was orphaned at a young age, but quickly found herself a home at Jane Williamson’s Four Feathers Farm in Michigan. Tilly proved to be a natural at driving and took to both driving as a single or as a pair with no problem.

Nistar Blazing Kansas
Don’t tell Nistar Blazing Kansas that he can’t do something. Standing at 11.2 hands, “Kansas” competes in halter, trail, pleasure driving, and carriage driving for owner Cynthia Bellis-Jones of Fox Run Farm – often against Sporthorses much larger than him.
He’s been named a National Champion in the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America (WPCSA), Pinto Horse Association, and the United States Dressage Federation (USDF). His dam, the beautiful and talented GFT Blazing Ethel owned by Wayne & Nina Sue Stark, was a champion driving pony herself and obviously passed on her winning ways!

Kansas is still currently nationally ranked the WPCSA’s #1 Section A Stallion, and the road to that ranking was paved in victory. He earned his Legion of Merit with the WPCSA in 2018. The following year he was named the organization’s Welsh of the Year. Kansas was also the United States Equestrian Federation’s Horse of the Year in 2018 and 2019…all in addition to being a three-time winner of the USDF’s Welsh All-Breed Award and three-time Grand Champion of the National Dressage Pony Cup.
