All About Those Special Runs

We aren’t going to start revealing these beauties to you just yet, but we do have some information we want to brush up on before tickets go on sale in February.

We talked about this year’s ticket types here and went into a little more about what those tickets have access to here, but we know that a big question many potential ticket buyers have is – what are Special Run models and how do I get them?

What are Special Run Models?

If you’re new to BreyerFest, Special Run models are a category of models made exclusively for Breyer events and BreyerFest boasts the largest quantity of this type of model that is exclusive to attendees.  That means, these models are only sold at BreyerFest and not in stores or a part of Breyer’s regular online offerings.

How many options are there?

The total number of models offered varies from year to year, but in recent years there have been nine different options, including a non-horse animal option. Within each option we may or may not have included some surprises - like ½ the run is glossy, mane or tail variations, or the entire model is a Surprise!

What is the “Surprise” Horse?

If you’re familiar with the Stagecoach Surprise from 2023, you might remember that fans didn’t know anything about this model (mold or colors) until it was revealed at BreyerFest. With the "Surprise” model option you won't know anything about the model you are getting until you purchase the model on site and then open it. 

Are Special Run models included in the cost of my VIP, All-Access, or Online Traditional Access tickets?

Special Run models are not included with the cost of your BreyerFest ticket; they must be purchased at an additional cost, even for VIPs.  Prices and quantities will be listed on the Exclusive Models page on BreyerHorses.com as models are revealed and generally range from $55 to $85 each.

If you are an All-Access ticket holder, these models must be picked up and paid for on site at BreyerFest.

VIP and All-Access ticket holders will be able to purchase up to two (2) Special Run models per ticket; Online Traditional Access ticket holders will be able to purchase up to two (2) Special Run models per ticket but will have access to a selection of the total number of options, not all of them.

What does the purchase process for Special Run models look like?

This is where things get slightly more complicated (but only slightly) since All-Access and Online Traditional Access ticket holders have a bit of a multi-step selection process, but a very simple purchase process. 

• VIP ticket quantities will be limited, but if this is the ticket type you purchase, you’ll be able to pre-select and pre-pay for your two (2) Special Run models at the time of your ticket purchase. Simple as that!  When you receive your tickets, they will include Special Run Model REDEMPTION tickets for the models you selected, which must be redeemed on-site at BreyerFest.  These models are reserved for you, so you can pick them up any time during BreyerFest weekend that is convenient for you.
• All-Access ticket buyers will be able to purchase up to two (2) Special Run models per All-Access ticket.
  • Ticket holders who purchase their All-Access tickets prior to the Preference Form deadline in the spring (exact deadline date will be announced when tickets go on sale in February) will be emailed preference forms allowing them to rank this year’s Special Run models in order of their preference. Accounts with multiple All-Access tickets can choose to either do a master list for all their tickets combined or individual lists for each ticket. 
  • Based on your place in the virtual “line” and your submitted preferences, models will be assigned to your account and you’ll receive RESERVATION tickets corresponding to these models.
  • If you do not submit a preference form, the models on your list were not available when your place in the virtual line is reached, or you purchase your All-Access ticket after the Preference Form deadline, you’ll receive WILD CARD Special Run tickets that can be redeemed for your choice of any of the remaining Special Run models on site at BreyerFest. It is also possible that you can receive a combination of Special Run RESERVATION tickets and WILD CARD tickets.  This can happen if only some of the models on your Preference List were available when your place in the virtual line is reached, but not all of them.
  • Either way, whether you have RESERVATION Special Run tickets or WILD CARD Special Run tickets, all All-Access ticket holders must pay for their Special Run models at BreyerFest. As well, since these models are reserved for you, All-Access ticket holders can pick up their models anytime that is convenient for you during BreyerFest weekend! 
• Online Traditional Access ticket buyers will be able to purchase up to two (2) Special Run Models per ticket but will have access to a selection of the available Special Run models to choose from (not all of them).
  • Buyers who purchase their tickets prior to the Preference Form deadline in the spring (exact deadline date will be announced when tickets go on sale in February) will be emailed preference forms allowing them to rank this year’s Special Run models in order of their preference. Accounts with multiple Online Traditional Access tickets can choose to either do a master list or individual lists for each ticket. 
  • Based on your place in the virtual “line” and your submitted preferences, models will be assigned to your account and these models will be made available for you to purchase during BreyerFest weekend. If (for whatever reason) you do not submit a preference form, purchase your tickets after the Preference Form deadline, or the models on your list were not available when your place in the virtual line is reached, models will be randomly assigned to your account for purchase during BreyerFest weekend.
  • You are not required to purchase the model(s) assigned to your account. If you purchase multiple Online Traditional Access tickets to BreyerFest and have multiple Special Run models to choose from, you can buy some, all, or none of the models available to you – your choice!
