BRAND / MARKETING DIRECTOR – TOY / PLAY
SUMMARY
We are seeking a Brand / Marketing Director to develop and grow Reeves International’s toy/play focused product lines (Breyer Kids, The Big Dig, CollectA, licensed properties, customer specials) that meet the organization’s brand standards, financial goals, and vision for growth. The ideal candidate will identify and develop white space for products, content, partnerships, and marketing opportunities to reach new fans and customers. This includes driving the strategy and managing execution of these opportunities in collaboration with various service areas of the business including Design, Sourcing, Creative Services, and Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy, Category Strategy & Product Line Management:
- Help drive the development and execution of brand strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets for Reeves’ kid-focused lines.
- P&L responsibility - managing cost, establishing pricing, forecasts, and managing marketing spend.
- Identifies and pursues white space opportunities consistent with the business’s growth targets and brand guidelines.
- Partners with internal marketing, agencies, and creative services to evolve and develop the brand and categories consistent with consumer expectations, financial goals and business objectives.
- Conduct and manage product line reviews and product development process, working with designers, product engineers and sourcing to meet all development milestones, in-house, and retailer delivery dates.
- Identify and work with internal and external designers, to conceptualize and design products, content, and experiences. Project manage from concept through to commercialization.
- Work with Sales and Finance teams to perform competitive price reviews, pricing analysis, and pricing strategies that support revenue growth objectives while maintaining margin targets.
Marketing:
- Build coordinated annual marketing plans around new product lines to drive brand awareness, household penetration, sales, and market share.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated consumer and retail programs ensuring executional excellence on time and on budget.
- Ability to construct, distill and communicate a narrative on the business to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Partner with Creative Services to develop powerful marketing campaigns and stories to drive consumer behavior across packaging, POS materials, direct marketing, website, digital and social marketing.
- Coordinate and manage internal partners and external agencies for accountability in goal setting, budget, timeliness, and outcomes.
Market Analysis & Consumer Insight:
- Leverage data and market research to identify key trends and behavioral patterns for children aged 3-12 and their parents.
- Institutionalize consumer insight to drive strategic decision-making and enhance product development, marketing strategies, and customer experience.
Budget Management:
- Manage marketing and product development budgets effectively and efficiently optimizing resources for maximum impact.
KPIs:
- Meet key milestone development dates and delivery due dates.
- Bring new consumers into the Breyer brand as quantified in planning.
- Deliver and manage product to meet target financial goals including revenue, gross margin, & inventory turn.
- Decrease/eliminate plastic in packaging and product.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA in marketing, business, or related field: MBA a plus.
Proven Experience: Minimum 10 years of brand management experience with a children’s focused consumer-packaged goods company (preferably in toy/gift). A track record of successful product launches in a growing business that increases topline and gross margins.
Strategic Thinker: Intellectually curious and creative with a broad perspective. Sees how the brand fits into the larger landscape
Leadership Skills: Manages, coaches, and develops internal product management talent.
Results Oriented:
- A strong sense of urgency, problem-solving skills, and excellent sense of prioritization; capable of balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and manage workload, competing timelines, and competitive environment, under time constraints and within budget parameters.
- Can simplify complex data into clear, concise, actionable recommendations.
- Experience in campaign creation, execution, and storytelling success across mediums including digital, social, and retailer-specific platforms.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally present strategy, concepts, and financial decisions to executive management.

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Breyer Animal Creations® (www.BreyerHorses.com) was a winner of the 2021 Equine Industry Vision Award as well as a finalist for the 2021 National Toy Hall of Fame. Known for exquisite replicas of horses of all breeds including Triple Crown Winners and Olympians, Breyer is the home of popular toys, crafts and play sets. BreyerFest® is an annual immersive brand event attracting over 34,000 in-person attendees and thousands more from 100+ countries through virtual participation. Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and hands-on Marketing Communications Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies for Breyer to increase brand awareness and engagement.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage a communications strategy for Breyer to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Strategies to include social media, public relations, advertising, co-promotions, and influencer relationships.
- Concept and write press releases, advertising promotions, product launch content, video and commercial scripts, public relations campaigns and more.
- Engage and manage a team of freelance copywriting and video production talent to create robust content to market to a variety of audiences for both acquisition and retention purposes.
- Edit all outsourced materials for style, accuracy, and voice.
- Develop and implement promotional strategies for product and event launches to support the sales, events, and product development teams.
- Set and monitor KPIs for all activities and make adjustments as necessary.
- Stay up to date with latest advertising, public relations and social media best practices and technologies, as well as trends in the toys, collectibles, and equestrian industries.
- Collaborate with ecommerce, marketing, events, sales, and product development teams.
- Network with industry professionals and influencers to stay informed of trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- Passionate about marketing, results driven, with enthusiasm for Breyer brand.
- Exceptional writer, editor, and proofreader.
- Proven ability to manage teams of freelancers, interns and/or staff.
- Experience creating content and managing promotional campaigns.
- Outstanding multitasking skills; ability to lead and do.
- Critical thinker, good listener, with problem-solving skills.
- 5+ years working in a full-time marketing communications role.

CONTROLLER

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, Controller to lead and manage our small Accounting team. Reporting directly to Reeves’ CFO, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate with broad knowledge of accounting, financial and business principles to manage the day-to-day people and processes of the Department and help drive the company’s financial strategy and planning.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and workflow of small team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, payroll).
- Manage, develop/coach, set targets for and supervise Accounting/Finance personnel.
- Direct the Accounting Department process, procedures, and systems necessary to maintain proper records and ensure adequate accounting controls and services and adherence to GAAP.
- Partner with CFO, Sales and Marketing to quantify future business opportunities.
- Report up to the CFO on any issues and opportunities for process improvements and positive change.
- Work with the CFO on budgeting, audit, tax, and accounting activities.
- Assist CFO in financial planning for the organization - analyzing Company performance and risks.
- Prepare timely and detailed analysis/reports on financial performance and forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis for presentation to CFO and Management.
- Maintain constant awareness of the Company’s financial position to proactively address and prevent potential problems.
- Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
- Report on all financial discrepancies and findings to Management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-years’ experience in a Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, Director of Finance, or similar role in a consumer products company.
- In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office and NetSuite.
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in both Direct to Consumer and Retail business a plus.
- BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MBA is a plus.
- CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus.

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and accomplished Inside Sales Representative; a talented individual with experience in Consumer Products; preferably in toys, gifts, collectibles and/or sporting goods, to join our company that is well positioned for growth. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this position is based in our office in Pequannock, NJ. The chosen candidate will develop a customer base with assigned retailers to increase sales and product distribution primarily via telephone and email. Approximate travel: 10 – 20%
Key Responsibilities
- Work with established accounts in assigned territory to increase sales through order generation, inventory management, securing new opportunities, resolving issues, and timely follow up:
- Call on accounts primarily via telephone and email
- Visit high volume customers at least twice per year
- Open new accounts/work with leads from Breyer website, trade shows, and other sources
- Develop creative store merchandising to drive incremental sales
- Develop creative customer programs to drive incremental sales and distribution
- Timely follow up of leads to secure incremental sales and distribution with new customers
- Proactively prospect for new customers in assigned territory to secure incremental sales and distribution
- Provide timely feedback and information to management as requested
- Attend relevant trade shows, etc.
Qualifications
- 5 years minimum sales or marketing experience.
- Energetic self-starter with creative and independent thinking and winning attitude and approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong planning, organization, and data analysis capabilities.
- Personable and professional with outstanding influencing skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with NetSuite a plus.
- Business to business sales with tangible consumer products (toys, gifts, collectibles, crafts, hobbies, equestrian merchandise and/or pet supplies).
- Knowledge of and affinity for horse and other animals a plus.
