Let's Get Breyer Into the Toy Hall of Fame!

We only have one thing on our birthday wish list this year: Breyer turns 75 in 2025, and we'd love nothing more than for Breyer Horses to finally have a spot in the Toy Hall of Fame!

Located at The Strong Museum in Rochester, NY, the National Toy Hall of Fame honors toys that have inspired creative play and enjoyed popularity for generations. Three-quarters of a century ago, Breyer started making the world’s finest model horses, inspiring play with pure horse world magic - from icons like Roy Rogers’ Trigger and Misty of Chincoteague to Secretariat and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, to present-day horse stars like this year’s BreyerFest Celebration Horse Tight Lines, partner to champion three-day eventer Will Coleman.

Once a year The Strong inducts new honorees into the Toy Hall of Fame, and fans are part of that submission process! Anyone can nominate a toy for consideration. We would love for you to round up your friends, followers, listeners, readers, and horse pals, and help us get Breyer in the race for this November's induction!

The deadline to submit your nomination is July 31, 2025. Final selections are made on the advice of historians, educators, and others who exemplify learning, creativity, and discovery through their lives and careers.

Here are the criteria that each toy is judged upon:

• Icon-status: Is the toy widely recognized, respected, and remembered?
• Longevity: Has the toy enjoyed popularity over multiple generations? More than a passing fad?
• Discovery: Does the toy foster learning, creativity, or discovery through play?
• Innovation: Has the toy profoundly changed play or toy design?

Share your Breyer story with the Hall of Fame committee, keeping the above criteria in mind. Here are some additional ideas for how you can convey Breyer's impact on yourself, horse lovers, and children across the world:

• Tell them about the first Breyer you owned, what it meant, and how Breyer brought the horse world to you.
• Talk about Breyer's fan community, the model horse hobby, and what having a Breyer model makes you a part of.
• Share your experiences at BreyerFest - we've just wrapped up our 36th year, and each event brings 30,000+ fans to Kentucky each July for the world's largest horse and model event of its kind. Fans from over 100 countries attend our concurrent virtual event as well!

Only about 80 toys have been inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame to date, and now it's time for Breyer Horses to be among them. We sincerely appreciate your support!
