When they arrived on the scene in 1973, Chris Hess’ Thoroughbred Mare and Suckling Foal (molds #3155MA and #3155FO) were neither particularly flashy, nor groundbreaking. But its loving depiction of equine motherhood struck a chord with horse lovers young and old, becoming one of the most beloved of Breyer’s gift set releases of the 1970s.
Having come in mostly modest colors and patterns in their previous incarnations, these molds finally get a chance to shine in their Vintage Club premiere. Lillian & Molly make a striking and fashionable pair, stepping out in matching Dappled Buckskin Tobiano Pinto coats.
