Meet Apollo!
When we saw this stunning stallion, we thought for sure we were indeed staring at the god of the sun. With a coat of gleaming metallic gold and dark green eyes, PRE stallion Apollo del Solis is no stranger to attention.
As a two-year-old, he won his stallions class at the Andalusian World Cup, and was awarded the Best Movement honors. In 2020, he was approved as a PRE Breeding Stallion by ANCCE, the National Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders' Association. Owned by Sommer Ranch, Apollo is the result of their thoughtful breeding program that brings together beauty, talent, and temperament.
Until recently, Spain had called rare double pearl coats like Apollo’s “Isabella,” but now registrations would call his coat “Bay Double Pearl.” As a double pearl, Apollo will give the recessive pearl gene to each of his offspring, which expresses itself in metallic shades when combined with another pearl gene, and will emulate a cremello or perlino when combined with a cream gene. With his coloring, movement, and personality, Apollo’s future as a sire looks as shining as his coat!
