Say hello to Lapland, this year’s absolutely gorgeous Open Show Reserve Champion prize, done on the Peruvian Paso (mold #576) in a delicious dapple buttermilk buckskin.  Only fourteen lucky Reserve Champions in this year’s Open Model Horse Show will get to take this guy home!

Lapland, which is a politically undefined region in northern Scandinavia, is the areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland that lie mostly above the Arctic Circle.  Finnish Lapland is one or the largest and most densely populated areas in that country, and Swedish Lapland is a much-sought after tourist destination.

The rugged beauty of the terrain, excellent viewing of the Northern Lights, and the incredibly rich Sámi culture make this region unique in Scandinavia!
