We thought our clue from yesterday was pretty obvious, but if you didn’t guess, say hello to this year’s BreyerMidwest Youth & Novice Model Horse Show Overall Reserve Champion Prize!

The 9th release in the beautiful Breyer Birds of a Feather series, Flamingo debuted in 2023 to Collector Club Members and was limited to just 500 pieces.  Our three BreyerMidwest Youth & Novice Show Reserve Champions will each get to take one of these beauties home.

Flamingos are some of the most recognizable birds on the planet. Known for their vibrant pink feathers and long, spindly legs, these shorebirds can be found along the water’s edge, feeding on the brine shrimp and algae that give them their vivid color.

Designed by artist Sommer Prosser, Breyer’s Flamingo is a dainty rose grey Arabian mare with plenty of pizazz – a group of flamingos is called a “flamboyance,” after all! Her dappled coat color is a subtle nod to these beautiful birds, and her look is completed with a thin, white snip on her muzzle and detailed eyes. She is stamped with “Flamingo 2023” on her belly for authenticity.

There is still room in the Youth & Novice model horse show at BreyerMidwest if you want to join!  This show is geared towards both younger showers (5 to 17) and newer adult showers, so don’t be shy about joining in the fun as an adult.  This is a great way to learn the ins and outs of showing your models in an in-person environment if you’re new to the world of showing your models.  Learn more about showing here!
