Be Prepared! How to Prep Models for Painting

Be Prepared! How to Prep Models for Painting

with Tiffany Purdy

The backbone of a stellar custom Breyer model is a good prep job. If you'd like your model to have as realistic of a finish as possible, it's important to make sure you're working with an entirely smooth canvas - that includes removing any remaining seams, filling holes or other imperfections, and spraying a flat coat of primer on which to paint your masterpiece.

Hosted by professional model horse artist Tiffany Purdy, this detailed tutorial explains full prepping of an assortment of model types, for all types of painting. This workshop covers the tools and materials needed to prepare everything from a Traditional scale Breyer to the smallest micro model.
