The First Release in the 2019 Vintage Club
The First Release in the 2019 Vintage Club. By the late 1960s, collectors and hobbyists were demanding more realistically rendered molds and colors. Like their Thoroughbred cousins, Standardbreds tend to be conservatively colored, usually coming in some shade of Bay or Brown. So when Chris Hess’s dashing Pacer (mold #46) was released in 1967, he came in a modest Dark Chestnut.
Since then, the Pacer mold has come in almost every color and finish in the Breyer rainbow – from Black to White, from Gloss to Matte, and even a couple of Pintos! Those previous Pinto releases are almost as scarce as real-life Pinto Standardbreds, so the 2019 Vintage Club release Rockford represents the first opportunity for most Breyer fans to add a little bit of flash to their Pacer stash!
Rockford comes in a retro 1980s era style package with a booklet and numbered certificate of authenticity.
