This year's surprise Special Run model was definitely a surprise for attendees! Done on our Standing Thoroughbred by Susan Carlton Sifton (mold #741, also known as Emerson), this model was extra-special for this year's Against All Odds celebration because the sculpture was molded as a mare for this release!
You might have spotted the matte/glossy split listed in the Commemorative Program that was available in the BreyerFest stores in-person at BreyerFest, but what we didn’t tell you was how each colorway was subdivided.
There were 5,300 matte pieces within the run, and here’s how each color was distributed:
- Blue Varnish Semi-Leopard Appaloosa – 1,250 pieces
- Wild Bay with Gulastra Plume – 1,125 pieces
- Cremello – 1,025 pieces
- Dark Bay Overo - 950 pieces
- Chestnut Sabino - 950 pieces
There were also 2,500 deliciously glossy pieces available, and here’s how they broke out. This includes the green clearware decorator, designed as a nod to BreyerFest's 35th Anniversary as the emerald is its traditional gemstone.
- Glossy Blue Varnish Semi-Leopard Appaloosa – 375 pieces
- Glossy Wild Bay with Gulastra Plume – 375 pieces
- Glossy Cremello – 375 pieces
- Glossy Dark Bay Overo - 375 pieces
- Glossy Chestnut Sabino - 375 pieces
- Green Clearware Decorator – 625 pieces
Which variation(s) did you go home with?
