Give your Breyer models a sweet spot to hang out this holiday season! In this workshop, join artist Sacha Phariss as she transforms an ordinary Breyer barn into a delicious faux-gingerbread paradise. Sacha is using a Stablemates scale barn in this tutorial, but these techniques can be applied to a stable of any size! 

Gingerbread Barns

Supply List:

  • Breyer barn
  • Faux candy and/or beads
  • White spackle
  • Water
  • Tacky glue
  • Acrylic paints in colors for your barn's "frosting"
    • Sacha has only used white in this tutorial, but let your imagination soar!
  • Paper towels
  • Q-tips
  • Frosting piping bags
    • Frosting tips are useful, but optional.
  • Matte brown spray paint
  • Plastic cups
  • Work space protectant (paper/plastic)
  • Safety gear
    • Mask/respirator
    • Rubber gloves

      Optional Supplies:

      • Items to enhance your display
        • Powdered sugar
        • White cardboard
        • Small "fairy" lights
      • Brown pastels
      • Paintbrush
