The Third Release of the 2022 Premier Club!
The third and final release of the 2022 Premier Collection is here! The Ayyis Amazigh is a little-known breed that has had a tremendous influence on European stock. This breed is native to North Africa, a region that historically saw much activity over the centuries due to invasions, travelers, and settlements.
Northern Africa’s varied terrain includes mountains and deserts, and it required that this breed be sure-footed and agile. Standing on average 15 hh, the Ayyis Amazigh is strong with a short-coupled body and fine legs. A lower tail set and beautifully arched neck are hallmarks of these spirited horses, which were bred to have great stamina.
Anamar is a fine example of an Ayyis Amazigh stallion. With a name that means “happy, blessed,” sculptor Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig captured all the special qualities of the breed in this piece. She gave Anamar a pose reminiscent of those you’d find in historical paintings as a nod to the breed’s classic appearance and historical influence.
Artist Heather Puleo created Anamar’s original coat, and she was also inspired by the sculpture’s timeless appeal. Heather gave Anamar a striking pearly dapple rose grey coat, with rich shading and opaque whites that accent his dark mane. His coat is completed with unique dappling that elevates Anamar’s entire look.
Each Premier Collection exclusive model is a hand-painted work of art, and no two are ever precisely the same.
