Hands On Hobby Tent
The Hands-on Hobby Tent at BreyerFest is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the model horse hobby or take a deeper dive into hobby techniques! If you’re new to the world of model horses, our hobby volunteers are on hand all weekend to teach visitors about things like basic painting techniques for kids, tack making, finishwork, performance scene making, and more - all weekend long and all for free! Schedules will be released in the Spring, check back soon!
The Hands-on Hobby tent is also home to the Mini Mock Model Horse Show, a great way to get your hooves wet if you’ve never experienced model horse showing! You can bring your own models to “show” or borrow one of ours, and our mentors will walk you through the basics. We’ve got mentors all weekend long who are excited to show you the ropes, teach you how to place models in classes, and provide you with tons of information about this fun part of the model horse hobby.
Back for 2026, the incredible Anne Field is offering her clinic on judging! This clinic will be free to participate in, like our other activities in the Hands-on Hobby Tent, but will require pre-registration since it is a scheduled activity and limited in space. In this two-hour session, taking place each day of BreyerFest weekend, Anne will teach participants what she looks for when judging classes, show students what a performance class looks like set up in the show ring, and will walk students through the process of judging.
