If you travel North America’s rivers and waterways, you may be lucky enough to come across a belted kingfisher. These birds forage for food by diving headfirst into the water, and can be identified by their crested heads and unique rattling calls.
Breyer’s Kingfisher sports a wild mane that mimics his namesake bird’s notable crest. Artist Sommer Prosser designed his gorgeous blue roan pinto coat. She envisioned him playfully splashing in the water, and with his glossy finish and animated pose we can certainly picture that! Kingfisher also sports two different colored eyes and has “Kingfisher 2022” on his belly.
