@Lilith Mae – My first-ever model show was last year’s BF. I managed to survive, but I did end up missing and even skipping a few classes. My best friend was supposed to come along and help me, but she had a stroke the Monday before.

I agree that it would really help to do a local/regional show first.

My advice if you can’t—
1) have someone there to help you
2) do NOT enter every model you own that you think is good enough to show live
3) have someone to help you
4) do NOT do the display class before the official Open Show starts, unless you have friends to help. I did two displays, then struggled getting my show models set up for their classes (when I missed a couple)
5) have a helper
6) pack your models in reverse order!! iow, pack those in the last classes first. That way your models in the first classes are on top. I packed in order, which put the models I needed first at the bottome (why I skipped a couple classes—to get situated and in order)
7) have a friend to help you!!
8) do NOT go in expecting ribbons. be happily surprised if anything does place.

9) and 200) and first of all) HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

Lilith Mae, if you’ve never shown before I would recommend finding a show in your region instead. Breyerfest Live is huge, fiercely competitive, requires a lot of preparation, and can be overwhelming for even experienced participants.
