Equus Film Festival is Back at BreyerFest!
BreyerFest is thrilled to be able to partner with the Equus Film and Arts Festival each year, bringing amazing films to all BreyerFest ticket holders.
Founded in 2013, the Equus Film and Arts Festival showcases domestic and international feature films, documentaries, and shorts with one common theme – the horse. Equus aims to raise awareness, open discussion, and ultimately inspire social change with its global audience by telling these stories of incredible horses. Equus empowers these filmmakers and storytellers to share their experiences and honors their work each year with an annual WINNIE Awards event to commemorate the achievements of the films, art, and literature presented as a part of the Equus festival.
This year, as a special treat, filmmakers of the two featured films will be attending BreyerFest and available for a Q&A after the screenings. They will also be at the Equus Film table located in the Vendor Marketplace on Friday and Saturday to chat with guests leading up to the screenings!
The two featured films playing the VIC Theater on Sunday are Freedom Reigns by filmmaker Matt Cohn, which is story about a young boy and his family working with wild horses, and Rescued Hearts by filmmakers Dana Croschere and Krisanna Sexton, which is a collection of stories of healing through horses.
A collection of short films will be playing throughout the day and include:
- Woodrow and My Dad
- 5000 Miles 5000 Mustangs Project
- Herstory: Sidesaddle
- Wild Heart
- The Mustang Speaks (trailer)
- Breyer Horse by Shayla Ashley
Take a break from the Kentucky heat and enjoy one or all of these incredible films!
