Happy Beltane!

It’s the first of the month, so you know what that means!  If you’re new to BreyerFest, or coming back after some time away, we encourage you to take a dive into our “From The Horse’s Mouth” Official Guide to BreyerFest!  While we may call it the “First Timer’s Guide” it’s definitely for everyone, since each year for BreyerFest we make updates and improvements to the event – did you happen to notice where the Auction will be taking place, for example?

Also, it’s May Day!  Also known as Beltane, this festival marks the start of summer in some traditions in Europe and North America and is celebrated by feasting, bonfires, merriment, dancing around the Maypole, and of course – flower crowns!

Our official flower crown partner for BreyerFest is FeatherStone Florals and Holly is making some beautiful crowns and headbands for BreyerFest this summer!  You can check out her shop here and place a pre-order for pickup at BreyerFest!  She will also have tons of crowns and headbands for sale at BreyerFest all weekend long, so be sure to stop by her booth across from the Collector Club tent near the entrance to Celebration Park.

You might be thinking that Beltane sounds an awful lot like what we have planned for BreyerFest Midsummer Fair this summer, and you’d be right!  In Scandinavia, because those countries are so far north, the warm spring weather and accompanying greenery and flowers don’t really arrive until the end of June.  So, Scandinavians have the same types of traditions in late June that you’d see in southern parts of Europe in early May celebrating the same seasonal change.
