Today we have another guest horse reveal - one with a story just as amazing as his achievements. On August 6, 2004, horseman Juan Alberto Tirado Lizarraga made one of the greatest claim purchases in Quarter Horse racing history at Los Alamitos Race Course in California: a 2-year-old American Quarter Horse filly named Apollitical Time for $16,000. Under his ownership, the daughter of Thoroughbred stallion Apollo would become a racing champion and earn more than $900,000 on the track.

In 2007 Tirado bred the mare to a famous sire named Mr Jess Perry. The result was a copper sorrel colt he named Apollitical Jess who would take the track by storm. His achievements included the title of 2010 World Champion Racing American Quarter Horse and record-setting wins such as the prestigious Champion of Champions and Los Alamitos Super Derby. He retired from racing in 2010 with career earnings of $1,399,831.

As a sire, Apollitical Jess is equally revered. He is currently the sport's #2 all-time leading sire of racing Quarter Horses with more than 500 winning progeny that have earned over $54 million total. Among his foals is KJ Desparado, the first American Quarter Horse racehorse to earn more than $3 million.

Apollitical J Streak, who is one of Apollitical Jess’s offspring, will be coming to BreyerFest to represent his sire. A young stallion following in the footsteps of his sire with impressive achievements himself, he is excited to meet fans and be an ambassador for Quarter Horse racing! Catch Apolliticial J Streak in the Covered Arena, during one of his autograph sessions, or back at event stabling to learn more about him, Apollitical Jess, and Quarter Horse racing.
