Meet Jaguel Hilton!

Happy Friday! Today we are continuing with our guest horse reveals: meet Jaguel Hilton, who is the only Criollo stallion currently standing at stud in the United States. Born in 2007, he was imported to the US from Uruguay’s famed Cabana Septiembre by his current owners, Gravitas Criollos. Finely bred, “Hilton’s” achievements include being a two-time qualifier for the Freno de Oro/Freio de Ouro world finals, which can be described as a high-intensity versatility ranch horse competition.

The Criollo is a breed hails from South America. These athletic stock horses are descendants of the mounts of Spanish conquistadors and still retain their ancestor’s regal appearance. Hardy, with good bones and endurance, they quickly became the horse of choice for South American gauchos.

Now retired from competition and standing at Gravitas Criollos in Missouri, Hilton is helping to spread the word on what amazing partners Criollos are. Hilton’s offspring are already demonstrating the breed’s versatility as working ranch horses, as well as competing in working equitation!
