Roll Up Those Sleeves!

We are excited to be hosting our Hobby Information Experts next summer as a part of the Breyer Experience on the concourse of the Covered Arena at BreyerFest, but if you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, then head on over to the Hands-On Hobby Tent!

Located in the Walnut Schooling Ring at the KHP, right next to the Craft Tent, the Hands-On Hobby tent is manned by a team of incredibly talented hobby volunteers and is a great place to learn about tack making, details in finishwork, making props, and more!  These mini workshop sessions are free to sit in on all weekend long for all in-person BreyerFest ticket holders and many of them also include digital handouts you can download right to your phone and save for later.  

Also being hosted in the Hands-on Hobby Tent will be the Mini Mock Model Horse Show, which is a great way to get your hooves wet if you’re new to the world of showing your model horses.  We’ve got mentors all weekend long who are excited to show you the ropes, teach you how to place models in classes, provide you with tons of information about this fun part of the model horse hobby.  You can bring your own models to “show” or borrow one of ours, and our mentors will walk you through the basics.  These mini classes are free to join for all ticket holders and will happen throughout the weekend.

Back for 2026, the incredible Anne Field is offering her clinic on judging!  This clinic will be free to participate in, like our other activities in the Hands-on Hobby Tent, but will require pre-registration since it will be a scheduled activity and have limited space.  In this two-hour session, taking place each day of BreyerFest weekend, Anne will teach participants what she looks for when judging classes, show students what a performance class looks like set up in the show ring, and will walk students through the process of judging.
