Get Flashy!
Happy Thanksgiving Eve, Breyer fans in the US!
Our final workshop announcement for next year’s BreyerMidwest, taking place at EquiFest of Kansas in March, is coming to fans from across the pond! UK Artist Teddy Bates will be joining us for their workshop debut and will be teaching students how to paint flashy appaloosas!
If you’re looking to amp up your appaloosa patterning and painting skills, then this workshop will take you there! Attendees will learn the foundation steps to painting a loud leopard appaloosa pattern in acrylic paints, including how to realistically lay down spots, brush techniques for painting hair, understanding the importance of negative and positive space when designing an appaloosa, and how to follow hair direction when painting a leopard-patterned horse.
The target skill level for this session is Intermediate to Advanced painters, so if you’re new to painting we recommend you try out Christine or Stephanie’s classes. A Breyer model is included in this session.
This class will be hosted on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. This session overlaps with Kim Haymond’s Trail Prop Party session, so attendees are not able to register for both offerings. Attendees cannot register for overlapping classes.
Registrations will not be open until early December, but you can take a look at the show packets and other information here.
We will see you next week back here on the BreyerMidwest Blog!
