BreyerHorses.com Shipping Update, February 2025
An important message regarding recent delays in order fulfillment.
When showing model horses, entrants are required to submit a list of the models they will be bringing with them to the show holder in advance of the show. This is very much like a team roster in sports, where you have your whole team, their names and their positions compiled for the announcer to keep track.
Horse lists serve a couple of purposes:
· First, they help entrants keep track of which horses they are bringing and which classes those models are being entered in. As it’s noted in the show packet, the same horse can’t be entered into two different Halter Divisions, so your list helps you keep track of who goes where during the show. Also of note, a model can be entered into a Performance division and a Halter division, but classes will not be held for an entrant to move a model from one ring to the next. So keep this in mind when choosing which models to show.
· Second, the horse list helps the judges and the show manager keep track of who is winning classes so that results can be compiled during and at the end of the show.
Heather has already created a document for entrants participating in both model horse shows at BreyerMidwest, which can be found at the end of the Open show packet here and the Youth & Novice show packet here. These lists are due back to Heather by March 7th for both shows, so you have one more month to get those in.
And you might be wondering about that column “Horse’s Name”. While Breyer names most of its models as a part of production, most collectors actually re-name them once they own them, so that each model’s name is unique. Names like “Fashionista”, “Jazz Chickens”, “Partly Cloudy”, and “Honeydew” are just a small fraction of the names showers have selected for their ponies. So, be creative if you haven’t named your models yet!
Once all the lists for the Open Show are submitted, Show Manager Heather will secretly choose her favorite name off of each list. If that model wins a championship, the owner will get a fun, little prize from Breyer during the show. So get creative and start those horse lists!
