Painting a Sabino - Video Tutorial
Sabino is a unique pinto pattern that is characterized by its spots of white that move up a horse's legs and belly, and sometimes onto their neck and/or face as well. Join model horse artist and YouTuber Blue Mountain Stable for this great video tutorial on how to paint a high-quality sabino pattern on a model of your own!
Recommended supply list:
For Prepping and Priming
- Ultra-fine automotive sandpaper (approx. 320-400 grit AND 600 grit)
- Spray primer (ex. Duplicolor Sandable)
- Dish soap
- Toothbrush
For Painting
- Titanium white and titan buff paint
- Paintbrushes
- Small square/filbert
- Small round
- Smaller liner
- Jar with lid (for containing paint mixture)
- Spray sealer (ex. Testors Dullcote)
For Safety
- Particle mask (for prepping)
- Vapor mask (for priming)
- Rubber/plastic gloves
Optional Handy Supplies
- Pearly/metallic white paint
- White charcoal pencil
- Bondo glazing and spot putty
- Needle sanding files
- Double-sided foam mounting tape (for sticking models to objects while painting)
